Here is my 16 channel layout.

Q & A
Where do I put my 16 channel controller Box? Secure the box as close to the lights as possible to reduce the amount of extension cords required. It is easier to use extension cords to run power to the box. My controllers will be "chained up" on my porch with a big/mean guard dog, surrounded by laser beams, fragmentation land mines and my Mother-in-Law who swings a mean iron skillet, and Joe-Ellen has a 12 gage!
Why does the LOR Box have 2 plugs? The LOR box should be fed power from 2 different 15 amp circuits to avoid tripping one circuit with all the lights. Use Heavy duty 12 gage outdoor extension cord to run power to the box. The cords from the box to the lights can be lighter gage depending on the load.
Should I put up Side Walk Arches? Yes!!! Please do!!! Arches are going to be a dramatic part of the light show! You will see! Please put up sidewalk arches wiring the lights as 2 channels/circuits (left and right).
Does it matter which lights go to which channel on the 16 Channel Controller? Yes!!
It would help if you follow some guide lines and try to match my house as close as you can. Especially the 4 roof light channels and 2 arch channels. The rest are not as important.
Channel 1,2,5,6 are Roof lights: 1 & 2 are the same color left and right. I suggest adding an additional strings of lights, channels 5 & 6, of a different style or color on the same roof line. These will look so cool as the roof lights seem to change colors! The musical program changes my roof line from blue to multi color, back and forth. It looks rally great. Use your own colors or maybe add Icicles on on Channel 5&6 any thing you want. Look at my setup! Try to adapt to 4 channels of roof lights, 2 arches and 1 perimeter channel. The rest is a guess!
Should I leave the controller box plugged in and power on all the time? YES!!
"One box goes out, they all go out!" Not quite like that. Leave the box powered and let me be your timer!
What about my blowup displays? Can I hook them up to a controller? NO!! You can put a light behind them!
Not unless you can separate the light circuit from the blower. Then the light could go to LOR and the Blower could have constant power from a regular outlet on a timer of its own. The blower can burn out the controller and needs constant on power anyway. You can but a spot light behind them that is hooked to the show! It does look very cool! Much more info is on the Light-O-Rama website. Here is the link.
